Does anyone know how to disable the system bell like sound that NB 6.5 screams over my music whenever I go past the point of matching on incremental find?

Thanks,

I guess it emits java.awt.Toolkit#beep(). But I do not know how whether
it is possible to some disable it (through some option or switch) just
for NetBeans editor. You might try to ask on general NetBeans Users
mailing list (address-removed [1]).

I had a similar problem after upgrade of Ubuntu recently. I think I just
get rid of it by disabling all sounds in gnome-sound-properties and/or
putting "set bell-style none" into ~/.inputrc and/or /etc/inputrc (man
readline). But I'm not able to "re-enable" the beep and also not sure
how Toolkit#beep() works internally (native method). So just guessing.

I had the same annoying problem. I disabled the sound under Prefences > Sound in Linux. I use Linux Mint which is descended from Ubuntu.

Guys, I know it's been 4 years since the last, so I was hoping this new era has brought a solution to us windows users too? Like disable sounds without touching the entrails of your operating system?
